Middle Division (Grades 3 & 4)
The middle division steps up the pace of our core program with more challenges on larger fields and courts, adventure sports, a creative arts program with more advanced projects and additional off-campus trips. Boys and girls in the Middle Division enjoy two club periods each day (one in the morning and one in the afternoon). They can choose to practice a specific sport, join a sports league, work on a theater project, create with our Artist in Residence or make something beautiful at Creative Depot. In addition to the fun of designing a part of their schedule, the club program gives campers the opportunity to meet children from other groups with similar interests.
As campers enter grade 3, there are several rites of passage. An overnight in the gym includes an extra swim, dinner, s’mores and fun activities. Among fourth grade boys and girls, Circus Night is a camp tradition, as campers dazzle their families in a night-time performance of acrobatics, juggling, balancing and clowning. In mid-season, Camp-within-a-Camp gives third and fourth graders an exciting two-day program, where campers have the opportunity to receive special instruction in an activity beyond what is offered during the regular camp day. Past Camp-within-a-Camp experiences have included scuba diving, deep sea fishing, and scrapbooking.
